On the 9th December 2017, after a period of heightened public debate, legalised coupledom in the Marriage Act 1961 was defined as ‘the union of two people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life’. Looking to art and the public archive, HITCHED reflects on the politics of queer communities since the legalisation of same-sex marriage in 2017.
