The Christmas tree is central to celebrations at Christmas-time around the world. Its use, as we know it today, first began in the 1500s. A concern for the environment, as well as convenience, leads many people to put up artificial trees to decorate. The exhibition TREE uses the traditional Christmas tree as a reference, however, artists have bent the rules by making Christmas trees from non-traditional objects such as paper coffee cups and musical score sheets.
