Artists: Fiona Foley, Bindi Cole, Vicki Couzens, Chol Deng Akuok, Yoram Chama Chama, wāni toaishara, George Gittoes, Jacob Tolo, Steve Rhall
Art practice has a history of representing conflict. The Australian War Memorial deploys artists to capture the experience of war through one of Australia’s longest running commissioning programs. WAR is a group exhibition that examines the Australian experience of war beyond World War I and II. Many people who live in Wyndham have come to escape conflict in their own countries. Australia as we know it was established after nearly a century of brutal frontier wars. This exhibition explores our relationships to war in the 21st century, as well as looking back at our history of conflict.

It’s time Australia stood up as a nation of many Cultures and said with one voice. We are sorry for what we have done in the past, we should not let the pass just pass away. We are all accountable in one way or another. Come on Australia unite as one for one, the one’s we have blocked out of existence the rightful owners of this Great South Land We Call Australia.

Very challenging and confronting provoking a need for recognition of injustice. Validation of past wrongs & a need for this to be acknowledged & addressed.
